In the Nizhny Novgorod region, an alcohol production plant was closed, which belongs to the country’s largest vodka producer, Novabev Group, known for the Beluga and Arkhangelskaya vodka brands. This happened due to the pollution of the local Chugunka River and the death of fish in it.

“The Federal Service for Control of Alcohol and Tobacco Markets (Rosalkogoltabakkontrol) suspended the license of Chugunovsky Distillery JSC.” The information is in the service register. The decision was made on October 10. The plant belongs to the largest producer of vodka in the country, Novabev Group,” reports RBC.

According to the publication, the permit was suspended because the plant did not properly dispose of the waste that ended up in the Chugunka River and poisoned it. Because of this, fish died in the water. The decision to withdraw the license from the Chugunovsky Distillery was made on October 10.

Earlier, URA.RU wrote about the whitening of the alcohol market in Russia. Experts on the regulation of the alcohol industry in the Urals came to the conclusion that this is made possible by an increase in the time of sale of alcohol in stores.
