Those who stole enlightenment from our children, return it to its place –

/ world today news/ The Council of Ministers to postpone the entry into force of the law on pre-school and school education. If the EC does not, we will introduce a bill to postpone it.

“We, from the BSP LEFT BULGARIA, insist that the Council of Ministers submit a bill to postpone the entry into force of the Preschool and School Education Act by Wednesday. If it is not introduced by Wednesday, then we will introduce such a bill, because changing ministers does not solve anything”. This was stated from the parliamentary rostrum in a statement on behalf of the PG of BSP LEFT BULGARIA, the leader of the left, Mihail Mikov. According to him, the policy of GERB in two governments is consistent in this sphere – consistent in the chaos in the system, consistent in killing patriotism and education in Bulgarian secondary education, consistent in the severe defeats it inflicts on Bulgarian children. “A policy pledged and financed with at least ten million BGN. It is high time that the names of these experts who move “Slavic-Bulgarian History” back and forth, Botev, Vaptsarov, Smirnenski, who are ossifying the backbone of Bulgarian education, start to come out,” said Mikov. The leader of the BSP also read some of the names of the proponents of the law and emphasized that the minister himself is not a proponent, and the reaction of the prime minister, who asked for his resignation, cannot be timely, because the left has repeatedly warned about these problems.

Mikov summarized the results of the law. “The only reform in education is to eliminate authors and works. “History of Slavic Bulgaria”, Botev, Smirnenski, Vaptsarov are dropped. Under the pressure of the society, they return, it is not known when, it is not known where, it is not known in what way they will become available to the Bulgarian students at school”, he also said. According to him, entire periods of Bulgarian history are being discarded because of the political correctness of today’s government, because “we must be meek, kind, not read the stormy poems of Botev and Vaptsarov”. Mikov continued that practically the law regulates commercial practices with the numerous textbooks, printing houses and above all with the profits around them. “You regulated home education, with which you returned Bulgarian public education to the 19th century, when there was still no independent Bulgarian state. There is another problem with homeschooling. If the preaching of radical Islam can be sanctioned at school, how will a society, a state, control whether such training is not carried out at home?”, said the leader of the BSP.

Mikov asked what it means that each school, on the basis of the relevant framework curriculum, will develop a school curriculum according to the students’ interests and capabilities. “If there are five physical education teachers, then probably half the program will be only in physical education or in singing and drawing – not that there is no need for these subjects,” Mikov gave an example. He was categorical that education is not a service, as the rulers see it, it is not a business around which a number of companies can profit from the education of Bulgarian children, but it is a good, constitutionally enshrined. “The right to education is an inalienable human right and it must be guaranteed by the state for every child, for every citizen – under equal conditions, which will give equal opportunities to Bulgarian children,” said Mikhail Mikov categorically. He turned to the rulers: “Today we call again on those who stole education from Bulgarian children, to return it to where it belongs and to stop with laboratory business exercises with education, because this is harmful to the Bulgarian nation, it is also harmful to your children, not only for the children whose parents are erupting today in protest on social networks”, concluded Mikhail Mikov.

What is happening in the education system is a typical visible result of GERB management. A policy set and financed with at least ten million BGN and it is high time that the names of those experts who move back and forth Slavic Bulgarian History, Botev, Vaptsarov, Smirnenski, who are ossifying the backbone of Bulgarian education, start to come out. This policy ignores the national interest, sows chaos and fear among the citizens.

The harmful Law on preschool and school education calls into question the future of Bulgarians as a nation with a common national self-awareness, but also the children’s opportunity for an equal chance for development and life fulfillment. The problems in the law cannot be presented as surprising. It’s good that society understands it too. More and more parents, children, the public will feel what GERB serves them as a policy in secondary education. We warned about them many times. They warned teachers, parents, the public. Therefore, the reaction of the prime minister against the law cannot be timely today, months after we named the problems because of which ministers are being asked to resign now. Moreover, the minister himself is not the introducer of a bill, and if the names of the experts who absorbed the millions from Europe to make this mess in secondary education are not yet known to the general public, then the names of these 39 people’s representatives, Georg Georgiev is not among them, are known.

Today we again call on those who stole education from Bulgarian children to return it to where it belongsand to stop with laboratory business exercises with education, because this is harmful for the Bulgarian nation, it is also harmful for your children, not only for the children whose parents are erupting today in protest on social networks. What it means is that each school, based on the respective framework curriculum, will develop a school curriculum, according to the students’ interests and capabilities. If there are five physical education teachers, then probably half the program will be only in physical education or in singing and drawing – not that there is no need for these subjects.

Education is not a service, as you see it, it is not a business around which a number of small companies have staked themselves in order to profit from the education of Bulgarian children, but it is a good, constitutionally enshrined. The right to education is an inalienable human right and it must be guaranteed by the state for every child, for every citizen – under equal conditions that will give equal opportunities to Bulgarian children.

We from the BSP LEFT BULGARIA are convinced and continue to advocate that it is important for every Bulgarian to preserve the public character of Bulgarian education, affirmed from the Liberation until today through the Law on Public Education, which you scratched out of the Bulgarian legislative history, from the time of Vazov and other ministers, from the time of the structuring of the Bulgarian nation in the Third Bulgarian State.

As a result in the law today we have: the only reform in education is the abolition of authors and works. “History of Slavic Bulgaria”, Botev, Smirnenski, Vaptsarov are dropped. Under the pressure of the society, they return, not knowing when, not knowing where, not knowing in what way they will become available to the Bulgarian students at school. Whole periods of Bulgarian history are being lost because of the political correctness of today’s government, because we should be meek, kind, not read the stormy poems of Botev and Vaptsarov. Practically, the law regulates commercial practices with the numerous textbooks, printers and above all with the profits around them. You regulated home education, with which you returned Bulgarian public education to the 19th century, when there was still no independent Bulgarian state. There is another problem with homeschooling. If the preaching of radical Islam can be sanctioned in school, how will a society, a state, control whether such education does not take place at home?

Dear Members of Parliament, you have foreseen that basic education ends in the 7th grade instead of the 8th grade, so that fewer students drop out. And at the moment in Bulgaria there are 12% dropout students. If they study up to the fifth grade, probably even less will drop out, but what prevents you is the constitutional provision, so you decided that you can study up to the tenth grade, but you will get a diploma for the eighth grade. What kind of madness is this law that you poured on the heads of the Bulgarian citizens?

Dear members of the people, we are convinced that with the current contradictions in society and with the current socio-economic picture, it is necessary for the school, in addition to educational, to have social and educational functions, because you all watch on television the aggression in the streets, the aggression in school, the aggression of any place where people gather. Well, doesn’t it make sense for the Bulgarian state, the Bulgarian society and especially the Bulgarian school to also participate in this educational process, to have a little influence on what is happening.

We do not accept that the control in secondary education is carried out by an inspectorate under the Council of Ministers, built on a purely political principle, because this politicization and pressure on teachers, principals will not lead to anything other than a new partisanship of the system, which we had forgotten.

Dear people’s representatives, it is necessary to have clear commitments, rights and responsibilities of the state, the municipalities, the society, the family, so that teachers and parents know what awaits them from this law with three hundred and fifty texts, from this law that teachers and parents they will have to learn for sure in the next 10 years from the unissued by-laws, which will yet reveal new and new pages of that political understanding included in the idea of this law against those 10 million BGN absorbed European money.

Dear MPs, we from the BSP LEFT BULGARIA insist that the Council of Ministers submit a bill to postpone the entry into force of this law by Wednesday. If it is not introduced by Wednesday, then we will introduce such a bill, because changing ministers does not solve anything. GERB, at least in terms of this policy, in two governments are consistent – consistent in absorbing European money, in chaos in the system, consistent in killing patriotism and education in Bulgarian secondary education, consistent in the severe defeats it inflicts on Bulgarian children. On Wednesday, if no such bill is introduced, we will introduce it from BSP LEFT BULGARIA.
