October is breast cancer awareness and prevention month, and various activities are carried out in Córdoba to promote the importance of annual check-ups for women’s health.
In this context, Flavia Dellamaggiorepresenter of Cadena 3 and Cadena Heat, shared his personal experience to highlight the need for regular checkups.
Flavia relates that, although for years her gynecological check-ups resulted in “everything is fine”, this year an alarm went off. “During the mammography control, doubtful tissue appears,” he explained.

This led to a series of additional studies and Dr. García Jiménez suggested a surgical intervention to remove the tissue and perform a more precise analysis. “They performed a radiosurgical quadrantectomy on me,” Flavia explained to Chain 3, who emphasized that early detection is key to the successful treatment of breast cancer.
The studies were good, but a predisposition to generate cancer cells was detected. “What I appeal to, what I ask for, is controls,” he said. Flavia highlighted that prevention allows us to act in time and that, although facing a biopsy or waiting for results can be hard, it is essential for health.
Due to the surgery, Flavia was absent for a time from her program “Horario corrido”, Cadena Heat. Once this situation was overcome, he returned to normal.
