Sporza does not have the option to broadcast the Tour of Lombardy in the Netherlands. The Belgian channel initially broadcast the monument, which suddenly surprised Dutch viewers by stopping the broadcast. Viewers are amazed at the screen that was suddenly presented to them.

Sporza simply does not have the broadcasting rights to offer the Tour of Lombardy to Dutch viewers. In the Netherlands, these rights are fully owned by Eurosport and HBO Max. However, the Belgian channel only seemed to realize this later, as the race was initially broadcast. Viewers express their dissatisfaction on social media about the sudden end of the broadcast.

It is not the first time that Sporza has to disappoint Dutch viewers. The channel had a sublicense for Belgium and the race was therefore often shown in the Netherlands. Now there’s one geoblock has been set to, this is no longer possible. Belgian cycling fans can do just that Sporza to prepare for the Tour of Lombardy. Dutch people rely on Eurosport 1 or HBO Max.
