Ismail Kaani, commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) Quds Force, is reportedly alive after all. In recent days, many publications wanted the brigadier general dead after an Israeli strike in Beirut, however, this does not seem to be the case.
Middle East Eye, citing multiple unnamed sources, say the commander is ultimately alive and under interrogation in Iran. The fact that Ismail Kaani is alive is also confirmed by the Arabic branch of Sky News. Of course, as the medium explains, he himself suffered a heart attack during the interrogation process and was taken to the hospital.
Why Ismail Kaani is being interrogated
According to the international news media, Iran is investigating the commander of the Revolutionary Guards, for two important murders, that of Ismail Haniya, and Hassan Nasrallah. Many sources also add that both Ismail Kaani and his elite body, until the investigation is completed, will be in isolation.
At the same time, informants explain that “Iran has serious suspicions that the Israelis have infiltrated the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. Especially to those dealing with Lebanese issues. So everyone is under investigation». It is stated that the suspects are interrogated by persons under the direct supervision of the supreme religious leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
It is recalled that Ismail Kaani has not appeared in public since Israel killed Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah at the end of September. At the same time, it is noted that he, as well as other high-ranking officers of the Revolutionary Guards, arrived in Beirut two days after the assassination of Nasrallah for an on-the-spot assessment of the situation. However, a few days later it disappeared.
It is noteworthy that at the same time that Ismail Kaani disappeared, Nasrallah’s successor, Hashim Safieddin, was reportedly killed by Israeli fire in Beirut.
