IP seeks to strengthen relations with the Ministry of Economy

A few days before the CEO Dialogue takes place, the head of the Ministry of Economy (SE), Marcelo Ebrard Casaubon, spoke with the country’s private initiative about the promotion of investments, according to a message published by the Business Coordinating Council (CCE) in the social network X.

The organization indicated that the official held a private meeting with the leaders of the groups that make up the top organization to address “key issues for the business sector and the national economy, such as the promotion of investment, the promotion of competitiveness and the promotion to innovation.”

In the same publication, the organization directed by Francisco Cervantes Díaz, noted that both parties committed to establishing “different working groups with current issues that allow the strengthening of the relationship between the public and private sectors.”

“Dialogue and collaboration are an important pillar to promote economic growth and development of the country,” highlighted the CCE.

According to the National Council of the Maquiladora and Export Manufacturing Industry (Index), Ebrard Casaubón spoke about the 2024-2030 Work Plan of the SE, which establishes axes such as the review of the T-MEC, the actions that The federal government will seek to increase the development and integration of production chains, increase the added value of exports, the possibility of defining incentives in Mexico as the United States and other countries do for strategic sectors, as well as promoting the relocation of investments and companies. in the country.

“The comments of the head of the SE and the attendees revolved around protectionism and the main objective, which is to define an industrial policy that takes into account regional and sectoral competitiveness, as well as the promotion of direct and indirect exporters, of all sizes. of companies,” indicated the Index.

The meeting, prior to the CEO Dialogue that will be held on October 15, was also attended by the Undersecretaries of Industry and Commerce, Vidal Llerenas; and Commerce

Separately, the Confederation of National Chambers of Commerce, Services and Tourism (Concanaco-Servytur) expressed its support for the head of the SE regarding the objective of reducing informality, a problem that this organization has sought to resolve, since almost three fifths Parts of the 59 million people who make up the economically active population work in informal jobs.

“Mexico is trapped in labor informality, it is an unstoppable crisis,” said Octavio de la Torre, leader of Concanaco.

The organization indicated that labor informality not only makes Mexican families precarious, but also slows down the country’s economic development.
