As announced by the Polish News Agency, discussions are being held at all levels of bilateral relations about the necessary actions to extend D11 to the border with Poland. Petr Fiala, the Prime Minister of our southern neighbors, spoke about them at Polish-Czech intergovernmental consultations. He directly admitted that the delay was related to the beginning of the investment on the part of the Czechs.
Finally, the construction of a 21-kilometer section start near Kralovec on Friday, October 11. The Czech-Slovak-Hungarian joint venture MI Roads is responsible for their construction, although the tender in 2023 was initially won by Budimex. However, it was disqualified after an appeal from the competition.
– The construction of the D11 Trutnov highway – the state border with Poland is the largest tender awarded in a public competition in the history of the Directorate of Roads and Highways (RzSD), the Minister of Congress, Martin Kupka.
The completion of work on the new section of D11 from Kralovec to Trutnov, the construction of which is expected to cost more than 11 billion crowns (nearly PLN 2 billion), is expected at the end of 2027.
To be able to reach Pomerania from Prague, the Czech RzSD still needs to complete the section Trutnov-Jaromierz, where the D11 highway currently ends. It has a construction permit that is not yet final and is expected to start in 2025 and finish in 2028.
A road that ends in fields
