The motion to dismiss Czabański from the position of president of RMN was submitted by MPs from the Civic Coalition.
They also claim that Czabański violated the ban on combining the function of the head of RMN with participation “in an entity that is a media service provider or a radio and television producer.”
Czabański is an indirect shareholder in several companies managing Tomasz Sakiewicz’s media, so he violates the provisions of the RMN Act.
On Thursday afternoon, the parliamentary committee supported the motion to dismiss the head of the National Media Council. The Sejm did so at its plenary session on Friday.

Krzysztof Czabański is former PiS MP and long-time and trusted collaborator of Jarosław Kaczyński. Apart from him, there are two PiS MPs on the council: Joanna Lichocka and Piotr Babinetz, thanks to which Jarosław Kaczyński’s party has an advantage in this five-person body.
