Several homes were shot at in broad daylight in Alphen aan den Rijn. The shooting took place around 5:30 PM in Prins Hendrikstraat.
Some of the bullets went through the window of one of the houses. No one was injured, police reported. After the shooting, the suspected shooter got into a black car that drove away at high speed.
Broadcasting West received photos of the possible perpetrator. The images show a man with an automatic weapon walking towards Prins Hendrikstraat. Police are aware of the photos, but cannot confirm that it is the shooter. The description of the perpetrator does match the person in the images, a police spokesperson said.

Later in the evening, two people were arrested in a car in Almere on suspicion of involvement in the shooting. A weapon was found in the vehicle.

The regional broadcaster spoke to a witness to the incident. She stood face to face with the suspected shooter: “First he fired several bullets, and then he stopped. Then the shooter looked me straight in the eye. Then he continued and I fled into a store, and everything was gone.” closed. I was shocked.”
Nothing is known about the shooter’s motive.
