Hanoi (VNA) – On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of Hanoi Liberation Day (October 10), the Vietnam News Agency (VNA) Publishing House launched two photo books, one showing the maritime beauty of the Indochinese country and the another the contributions of President Ho Chi Minh to the struggle for independence and reunification.

The publication titled “To quoc ben dau song” (Homeland at the edge of the ocean), includes 153 images from a national artistic photography contest.

This book presents the beauty of the sea and the Vietnamese islands, in addition to showing their important role in the construction and defense of the Homeland. The snapshots instill a sense of sovereignty over the maritime zone among Vietnamese citizens.

Meanwhile, the work “Bac Ho voi Ba Dinh” (Uncle Ho with Ba Dinh) highlights the historical moment when President Ho Chi Minh read the Declaration of Independence, giving rise to the Democratic Republic of Vietnam (now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam ), in Ba Dinh Square in Hanoi on September 2, 1945.

The volume recreates the heroic and vibrant atmosphere of the first day of independence and exposes the feelings of the residents of Ba Dinh district and the late leader.

The two books promote patriotism, solidarity and the responsibility of all citizens in the protection and development of the nation.

They are valuable resources that spread the spirit of patriotism to people from all walks of life, particularly the younger generations, inspiring their pride in the past and confidence in the future./.
