A medical report reveals an increase in Israeli use of anti-depressant drugs

A recent report issued by the National Institute for Health Policy Research in Israel revealed worrying trends in public health for the year 2023, with the use of antidepressant drugs increasing by 6% compared to 2022, in particular in the northern regions where the conflict is with Hezbollah. .

The report, published by i24 News, showed that obesity remains a major problem, affecting 26.9% of Israeli women between 20 and 64 years. The Western Negev region, which borders Gaza, saw rates as high as 33.5%, compared to just 17% in Tel Aviv.

Smoking rates rose, now at 21.1% among 16 to 74 year olds, and men were two and a half times more likely to smoke than women.
