/Pogledinfo/ On May 9, China’s State Councilor and Minister of Foreign Affairs Qing Gan met in Berlin with his German colleague Analena Berberk.
During their conversation, Qing Gan pointed out that current global issues and challenges require cooperation and mutual respect between countries, not confrontation and accusations. China and Germany must together oppose the “New Cold War” and “disengagement and chain-breaking” and inspire confidence and momentum for world peace and prosperity.
Germany attaches great importance to high-level contacts, exchanges and cooperation with China in various fields, and expects positive results from the seventh round of German-Chinese government consultations, especially to promote joint actions in areas such as climate change, energy transition, biodiversity and the youth exchange, said Analena Berberk.
The two ministers also exchanged views on the situation in Ukraine. Qing Gan reiterated China’s position that the conflict should be resolved through negotiations.
