The last weeks have been the best in the career of the tennis player from Łódź.
Magdalena Fręch as of Monday, she is in 27th place in the WTA rankings. However, in the second round of the tournament in Wuhan, she had a very difficult task waiting for her, because she faced the American Emma Navarro, eighth on the world list.
The match was very tight and both players played unevenly. However, a 26-year-old Polish woman turned out to be better in this war of nerves!

In the next game, Emma Navarro equalized, but the first set ended with the Pole winning 6:4 thanks to another break. In the last game, she did not allow her opponent to score a single point.

The second game was chaotic and full of unequal play on both sides. The American kept her serve in the first game, but in each subsequent game the serving player was broken. The tennis player from New York did better in this breakbreak fight, winning 6:3.
Fręch started the decisive part better again, breaking Navarro and calmly maintaining her serve, taking the lead 4:1. Later, on her opponent’s serve, she had the match ball, she didn’t use it, but she didn’t let it disturb her rhythm – she confidently finished the match with her serve, winning 6:3.

Wednesday’s win is a great success for the Pole. Magdalena Fręch for the first time she defeated a tennis player classified in the top ten of the world ranking.
Fręch’s next rival will be Brazilian Beatriz Haddad Maia, who won against Russian Weronika Kudermetova 6:1, 6:4.
