This week Nintendo unveiled their next piece of hardware. But, that’s not the point Turn 2or whatever the coming consul is called, but a watch.
The device is called Nintendo Sound Clock: Alarmo, and it’s an alarm clock that keeps an eye on you while you sleep.
When the alarm clock goes off in the morning, it will play different music from a Nintendo game of your choice. At launch it could be Mario, Zelda, Pikmin, Splatoon or Ring Fit: Adventure, but more versions will be added as free extra content over time.
The watch then records your movements, and plays sounds while you stretch, roll around or whatever. When you finally stand, Alarmo plays a victory lute in your honor.
It is worth mentioning that the motion tracking is only designed for those who sleep alone. If you have two or more in bed, Nintendo recommends that you use “button mode”, which won’t see you move.
Other features include tracking your sleep, soothing sounds to fall asleep to, and selectable sound effects that go off every hour.
Nintendo Sound Clock: Alarmo is released first for Nintendo Switch Online members. The doors will then be opened for anyone to buy from mid-January 2025.
The Norwegian price of the device was not given, but it will cost 100 dollars. In this country, we may have to settle for somewhere between NOK 1,200 and 1,500.
