After becoming the best player of the Monash University Hockey Club in Australia, Baja Californian Sebastián Sandoval has returned home to defend the colors of Baja California in the 2024 Baja Cup and enroll in Canadian hockey.

In his first season in Australia, the athlete forged in the ranks of Baja California stood out for his level of play, scoring 19 goals with the Monash team and 38 in total in different tournaments, in which he was invited by Tasmania and in the International Hockey Melbourne.

“It was a very good experience for me, getting to know another type of culture and another way of seeing hockey. “Australia is one of the top 10 countries in the world, and it was a very enriching experience for me”he commented.

The resident of the Portales neighborhood pointed out that the start was not easy, but his quality of play began to be noticed after the fourth day, in which he was able to contribute in each game, until he earned the recognition of his club in the promotion league.

“After the fourth date I was more productive with the team, it already reflected the work of the previous four weeks. From there, I added in each game”he pointed out.

“My teammates and my coach congratulated me a lot for my work. In addition, I finished the season as the best player in the club, with 241 votes from the team and staff, and I also received recognition from several clubs.”

Born on August 1, 2001, Sandoval has the traditional Copa Baja 2024 with Baja California in the Ciudad Deportiva. Additionally, he plans to play in Canada and will tentatively make his first trip to Vancouver in two weeks.
