Iran’s top diplomat had met with Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister, Prince Faisal bin Farhan, to discuss bilateral relations and ways to develop them in different areas, as well as to discuss the regional crisis.
“Araghchi’s visit aims to stop the genocide and aggression of the Israeli regime and aims to relieve the pain and suffering of our brothers and sisters in Gaza and Lebanon,” Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei said in the X, as mentioned by. Al ArabiyaThursday (10/10/2024).
“The meeting in Riyadh continues our diplomatic efforts, in coordination with countries in the region,” he continued.
Iran fired more than 180 missiles at Israel on October 1 in response to the assassination of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran and Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah on the outskirts of Beirut.
At the same time, the Zionist regime of Israel promised that the retaliatory attack on Iran would be deadly, precise and surprising.
“Whoever attacks us will be hurt and will pay the price,” Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant said in a video statement on Wednesday.
“Our attacks will be lethal, precise and most importantly surprise, they will not understand what happened and how it happened, they will see the results,” he reiterated.
Israel has waged a year-long war against Hamas in Gaza triggered by an unprecedented Hamas attack in southern Israel on October 7, 2023.
Lebanon-based Hezbollah began shelling northern Israel after the Gaza war, and since last month Israel has dramatically increased its attacks targeting Hezbollah leaders and infrastructure.
Both Hamas and Hezbollah are part of what Iran calls the “Axis of Resistance” which includes militant groups in the Middle East region.
