In early October, Iran launched an attack with 181 high-speed ballistic missiles on Israel. However, most of these attacks were successfully repelled by Tel Aviv’s defense system.
Nevertheless, Jordan revealed that its own air defense system and air force were engaged in targeting Iranian missiles. After April 2024, this is the second time the country has helped Israel in the Middle East conflict.
Some say this was a secret plan by the US, the UK and other allies to help Israel fight long-term attacks on Iran.
Reasons Jordan is helping Israel
According to The Guardian, Jordan helped Israel eliminate Iranian missiles because it received funding from the United States of more than USD 1 billion or the equivalent of IDR 15 trillion a year.
Suspicions about Jordan receiving money from the US were strengthened by the US after it warned of an impending attack about two and a half hours earlier.
Most likely the warning came from satellites or intelligence signals or both, which could come from an American, British, Israeli or other international investigation.
This is a form of US support to one of its friends, which is Israel. Because the US and Western countries are still very cautious about getting directly involved in the conflict.
Despite this, the Kingdom of Jordan still insists that the actions they are taking are to protect their sovereignty from various attacks.
Jordan was concerned that some of the hundreds of missiles launched by Iran would target their territory, so Amman chose to shoot down several of these missiles.
