The journalist Babis Agrolampos died –

ESIEA’s Board of Directors announced the death of journalist Babis Agrolambos, who passed away suddenly at the age of 59 in the early hours of Monday, October 7.

As reported by the Editors’ Union, Babis Agrolampos was born in 1965, in Didymoteicho, Evros, and studied at the Kapodistrian University of Athens, at the School of Political Science and Public Administration.

He started his journalistic career in 1989 at the newspaper “Proti”, covering the freelance reporting. Afterwards, he worked at the radio station “902”, the newspapers “Anagnostis”, “Tetarti Ecousia”, “Ependytis” and the magazine “Eptamisy”. From 1992, he started working at the radio station “Flash 96.1”, first as a reporter and then as editor-in-chief. From time to time, he collaborated on programs of the “SKAI” and “MEGA” television stations. He remained at “Eleftherotypia” from 2008 until the closing of the newspaper, while from 2013 he worked at “Editors’ Newspaper”.

“Bambis Agrolampos distinguished himself for his professional consistency, hard work and the seriousness he showed in all the reports he was involved with. A man of dignity, modest, meek, with integrity of character, he worked hard and conscientiously. Throughout his professional career he stood in solidarity with colleagues and participated in social and trade union struggles. From November 2008 to May 2010, he was a member of the Board of Directors. of ESIEA and offered valuable services with his decisive interventions.
