Update from September 28, 2024: Parallel to the start of pre-sales for the PlayStation 5 Pro on Thursday, Sony has added the note “PS5 Pro Enhanced” to the product pages in the PlayStation Store.
Update from September 25, 2024: As part of the novelty show State of Play (recording), Sony Interactive has announced further details about the revised games, which are optimized specifically for the PS5 Pro – pre-orders are possible from tomorrow, Thursday.
Report from September 13, 2024: Much more detail, more realistic light refraction and reflection, higher resolution and doubled refresh rates – Sony Interactive promises these and other advantages to buyers of the PlayStation 5 Pro, which will be delivered from November 7th. Pre-orders are possible from September 26th – initially at PlayStation Direct, shortly afterwards also in retail stores. The list price is €799.99 – a Blu-Ray drive can be optionally retrofitted for €120.
Not only future PS5 games will benefit from the additional power of the built-in chips, but also existing PlayStation 5 titles. Publishers and studios will subsequently submit a separate free update that unlocks the corresponding features – which of course vary from game to game.
For titles from PlayStation Studios (e.g The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart, Horizon 2: Forbidden West), for example, the particularly detailed and effect-rich quality mode runs in a smooth, quiet, stable 60 fps instead of the usual 30 fps.
Up to 50 games are expected to receive such a PS5 Pro Enhanced patch when the PlayStation 5 Pro is launched – in the future it can be assumed that at least blockbusters will be upgraded via a tuning patch. In addition, the so-called ‘Game Boost’ should automatically ensure better image quality even for thousands of non-optimized PS4 and PS5 games.
Sony Interactive has already confirmed that these titles will be part of the PS5 Pro Enhanced games from November:
- Alan Wake 2 (Remedy)
- Assassin’s Creed Shadows (Ubisoft)
- Demon’s Souls (Sony Interactive)
- Dragon’s Dogma 2 (Capcom)
- Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth (Square Enix)
- Gran Turismo 7 (Sony Interactive)
- Hogwarts Legacy (Warner Bros.)
- Horizon: Forbidden West (Sony Interactive)
- Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 (Sony Interactive)
- Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart (Sony Interactive)
- The Crew Motorfest (Ubisoft)
- The First Descendant (Nexon)
- The Last of Us Part 1 (Sony Interactive)
- The Last Of Us Part 2 Remastered (Sony Interactive)
- Until Dawn (Sony Interactive)
The list is continually updated as new information becomes available.
