Students go on strike on October 11 for the Selectivity

This Friday, the Student Union has called a strike for Secondary School, the second year of Baccalaureate and FP because, one month before the start of the course, neither the students nor the teachers know what the university entrance exam will be like. “It is completely intolerable,” said Coral Latorre, general secretary of the union. “Teachers are improvising. How is it possible that such an important exam, which will have such a big impact on the future of these students, is not yet published?”

They assure that there is a very great uncertainty among second-year high school and vocational training students that is causing a “blow” to their mental health, since they are experiencing a lot of anxiety and stress.

The strike was going to be called on October 11, but, they explain, given the repression that occurred during the student protests in Murcia, they have decided to bring it forward. In the case of Madrid it will be a rally at 12:00 in front of the Ministry of Education to demand responsibilities and it is expected that throughout the day today the list of the rest of the municipalities will be published.

The rest of the concentrations in different cities will be announced in the coming days.
