Passengers on a flight from Sydney to Tokyo-Haneda recently experienced an unusual situation. Due to a technical glitch in the entertainment system, they were unable to select their own film. After surveying travelers, Daddio from 2023 was shown. The film, starring Dakota Johnson and Sean Penn, contains revealing scenes and explicit text messages, which some passengers apparently found very uncomfortable. The film could not be stopped or the screen darkened.
In Germany it is rated FSK 12, which means children from the age of twelve are allowed to watch it, children from the age of six can watch it if accompanied by a parent or guardian. In the USA, however, it was given R status, which only allows adults to consume it.
The film is clearly not suitable to be shown during the entire flight, a Qantas spokeswoman told Daily Mail Australia. “We sincerely apologize to our customers for this experience.” All screens were switched to a family-friendly film for the remainder of the flight, “which is our standard practice for the rare cases where individual film selection is not possible.”
