At the same time, on Monday, the President revoked the mandate of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Marian Jurečka (KDU-ČSL) to manage the Ministry for Regional Development. On Tuesday morning, in addition to Vlček, he will also appoint a new minister for regional development, Petr Kulhánek (for STAN), Hrad said. On Monday, Pavel met with both candidates at Prague Castle.

Prime Minister Petr Fiala (ODS) decided not to fill Šalomoun’s position any further, the agenda will be taken over by Minister of Justice Pavel Blažek (ODS).

Síkela should become the new Czech European Commissioner, which is why the STAN movement proposed its first vice-president Vlček as his successor. The future minister considers the completion of the tender for the construction of blocks of the Dukovany nuclear power plant or the parliamentary debate on the amendment of the Energy Act, the so-called lex OZE III, to be his priorities

Kulhánek will replace Ivan Bartoš (Pirates), whom Prime Minister Fiala proposed to dismiss due to management’s inability to digitize the construction process. Bartoš finished his post at the end of September, and Jureček was temporarily leading the department. Kulhánek identified the digitization of construction management and assistance to regions affected by floods as his main priorities, but also the negotiation of the Czech position for drawing European funds in the new program period from 2028.
