In anticipation of the winter season, increased circulation of respiratory viruses is expected. The free fall vaccination campaign will begin in the coming days. This was announced on Monday by the national director of public health, Doctor Luc Boileau, during a press briefing intended to take stock of the situation at the start of autumn.
The offer of seasonal vaccines against respiratory viruses (influenza, COVID-19) in co-administration began in the residential and long-term care centers (CHSLD) of several establishments last week.
From today, the population at risk of complications is in turn invited to book their appointment. Administration will begin at local service points from October 16. It is also on this date that the general population will be able to make an appointment.
Appointments are made through Click Health. It is also possible to make an appointment by telephone at 1-877-644-4545
Currently, different respiratory viruses are circulating in Quebec. The presence of COVID-19 remains high, but stable. The respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) begins its fall circulation as expected. We expect the arrival of influenza in the coming weeks.
