Lübeck – The excitement surrounding the city derby in the Regional League North between that 1. FC Phoenix Lübeck and that VfB Lübeck was big. Chaos among the fans and a large number of police were the order of the day. In terms of sport, the game was definitely not a treat. First Herdi Bukusu put the guests in front, then scored Obin Ilok the 1:1. The game ended with this result.
“We wanted to give everything”
The Eagles’ goalscorer told HL-SPORTS after the game: “We trained well and prepared well for the game. We wanted to give everything, from the coach to the players to the physio. Nevertheless, we could have done better today. It was important to keep fighting after conceding a goal and we did that. The coach told me to go for every header, so I did the same for my goal. I knew that would be my ball.”
“Have to accept it”
Eagle Coach Christian Adigo says: “We know what we can do. We have a very good mentality. The goal was absolutely avoidable, but the team still showed morale and deserved to equalize. Everyone could see that today was not a normal preparation for a game. That says everything. If these are the standards in a sports city of Lübeck, we have to accept it.”
