It has been 30 years since Małgorzata Kożuchowska graduated from the then PWST in Warsaw. In a conversation with Dzień Dobry TVN reporter Kinga Burzyńska, she confessed which moment of her professional life was the most difficult for her. – I thought to myself: “I don’t know if I still want to be an actress,” the star recalled.
Małgorzata Kożuchowska 30 years in the profession
Małgorzata Kożuchowska is one of the most popular Polish actresses. She gained recognition for her role as a young editor, Ewa Szańska, in two parts of the cult “Kiler”. Her diligence, persistence and determination led to her getting a job at the Dramatic Theater right after graduating from the Warsaw Theater School, where she performed for 10 years. Later she started working at the National Theater, whose artistic director is Jan Englert.
Is the star celebrating the 30th anniversary of graduating from theater school? – No, I don’t celebrate. I’m actually a little surprised that I agreed to this conversation – she joked during a meeting with Kinga Burzyńska. (…) I probably would have missed it if it weren’t for my year. People from my year somehow became active at the end of the holidays – she explained.
One of the actresses who studied with Małgorzata Kożuchowska at the same university is Agata Kulesza.
– I remember our first meeting perfectlybecause we both have the “K” name and exams at drama school are taken alphabetically. And I remember her standing in front of the wall and making such a sample, and saying: “The sawmill was grinding the sawn timber, beat by beat, the sawmill was grinding the timber, beat by beat” and to herself I thought: “Oh, she must really have some theater experience” – my friend from that year recalled.
– I wouldn’t expect that 30 years have passed, because [Małgorzata Kożuchowska – przyp. red.] she is young, energetic and has a beautiful figure that 19-year-olds can envy – said Cezary Pazura.
Małgorzata Kożuchowska’s acting crisis
Although Małgorzata Kożuchowska can enjoy considerable television and theater achievements, there were many moments of doubt in her professional life. In a conversation with Kinga Burzyńska, the actress admitted that she once wanted to leave her profession.
– I once had a moment when I thought to myself: “I don’t know if I still want to be an actress.” This was when I got pregnant. I had a high-risk pregnancy and had to give up playing on the boards here. Then I played very intensively in “Rodzince.pl”, then I got “Second Chance”, a series. I continued these two series and I had a small child, so it was very difficult for me – admitted the star.
