1st Bundesliga: spectacular draw between Frankfurt and FC Bayern

October 6, 2024, 7:34 p.m

Frankfurt am Main. On the sixth matchday of the 1st Bundesliga, Eintracht Frankfurt drew 3-3 at home against FC Bayern Munich.

The Kompany team took control of the game right from the start and pushed the Hessians in at the back. Olise had a great chance to take the lead in the second minute, but shot just wide to the left after a cross pass from Guerreiro.

A standard scored the goal for FCB in the 15th minute: After a short corner, Müller got the ball, passed it to Kim in the backcourt and the South Korean hit it powerfully under the crossbar.

In the 22nd minute, however, the home team’s surprising equalizer: Knauff set Marmoush in the spotlight with a through pass and the striker, who was in a great mood, gave Neuer no chance in the duel.

Müller had a chance to take the lead again in the 30th minute, but failed due to a brilliant save from Kaua Santos. Instead, the SGE turned the game around in the 35th minute when Marmoush devoured Upamecano in a running duel and Ekitiké confidently used his cross pass.

After 38 minutes it was 2-2 again because Kaua Santos and Tuta were unable to adequately clear Olise’s attempt from a corner and Upamecano was allowed to score. At the break everything was open again.

The German record champions then turned the game around shortly after the break: in the 53rd minute, Kane carefully played to Olise in the backcourt and the new signing scored beautifully with a curling shot into the left corner.

Despite taking the lead, the guests remained in control and hardly allowed the Toppmöller team to develop, but they also missed a few top-class players to make the decision. This almost took revenge in the 84th minute when Dina Ebimbe narrowly missed a Kristensen cross.

But in the fourth minute of stoppage time it happened: Ebimbe set up for the irresistible Marmoush and the attacker gave Neuer no chance again after soloing.

But that’s not all: in the seventh minute of injury time, Müller shot after a corner, but only rattled the post. Shortly afterwards it was over.

With the point, Bayern Munich defends its lead in the table, Frankfurt slips to third place.
