/ world today news/ The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Daniel Mitov, should apply the clauses of the Vienna Convention and issue a sharp protest to the Turkish side against the unacceptable behavior of the Turkish ambassador to Bulgaria, Suleiman Gökçe.
This was insisted on in a statement distributed to the media by the independent MP and leader of the Bulgarian Spring Movement for Radical Change party, Velizar Enchev.
The occasion was Gökçe’s presence at the founding congress of the Lyutvi Mestan party, with which, according to Enchev, he violated the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations from 1961.
For this purpose, the Bulgarian ambassador in Ankara must deliver a note to the Turkish Foreign Ministry, and the Bulgarian MFA is obliged to use the relevant diplomatic channels and initiate a procedure for the recall of Ambassador Gökçe, insists Velizar Enchev.
He draws the attention of our foreign ministry that independent countries do not tolerate such actions by foreign ambassadors and immediately recall them.
If the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in his words, does not react to another provocation by the Turkish ambassador, it will mean that Bulgaria voluntarily renounces its state sovereignty and has the status of Eastern Rumelia.
