Police have issued an urgent warning after several sinister handwritten letters were discovered in mailboxes in an Ohio town.

The Georgetown Police Department shared an image of a cryptic note scribbled on lined notebook paper, written by the self-proclaimed ‘Georgetown Terror.’

“Hey, my siege of this city has just begun,” one of the letters seems to read, although the handwriting is difficult to decipher.

‘The bodies will fall, but none will be found… Ask yourselves, who is missing?’

The notes use a strange combination of cursive and backwards letters, and carry a donut-like symbol in the center of the page.

The ominous delivery occurred a few days before the Brown County Fair, but Chief Inlow said the event was uneventful.

“That’s when we ended up getting…I think we got between seven and 10 letters,” Inlow said.

The chief added that he believes an adult is behind the disturbing notes.

“At first I thought it could probably be a minor, but then there were some indications in the letters like italics and things like that would indicate maybe an adult,” he told WHIO TV.

‘So we’re up in the air at that point. Being so early in the morning, it is somewhat ruled out that it was a minor.
