/ world today news/ Vice President Margarita Popova criticized the Foreign Minister and the President for the lack of reaction to the words of the Turkish MP Semir Yalçon at the establishment of the DOST, that wherever Turkish is spoken, that is his homeland.
“Wherever the Turkish language is spoken, this place is part of our homeland for us,” said Semir Yalçen of the Nationalist Movement Party in Turkey at the party’s inauguration in Lutvi Mestan.
“There are two subjects in the state that, anticipating and not dragging after the events, should have had a comment on this matter until now – these are the foreign ministry and, although less – the presidency in the person of the president. There is no governance from either, nor from the other place, I am also in an awkward situation,” said Popova.
The vice-president asked whether the Bulgarian diplomacy has its strategic depth to protect national interests and how long the Bulgarian one will creat after the events, when it will clearly outline its national interest and we will defend it fervently and to the end, and enlightened.
“I also say that wherever there are Bulgarians in this world, there is Bulgaria, there is a small Bulgarian world. However, when at the establishment, at a party meeting, there are speeches by foreign citizens on this topic, and if they are sent ambiguous and insufficiently understood messages, then at the everyday level, misunderstandings and misunderstandings can occur, which we don’t really need at all,” commented the vice president. Margarita Popova was categorical that, in any case, our diplomacy has not responded adequately to the words of the Turkish MP.
“This is an unacceptable interference in a sovereign state. I think that this party is the ultimate expression of the Turkish invasion,” MEP Angel Jambazki commented earlier today.
Already yesterday, VMRO urged the court not to register DOST in order to “prevent the appearance of another Trojan horse in Bulgaria – a political entity that will defend foreign interests”. The party said that Yalchan’s formation was closely linked to the far-right nationalist organization Gray Wolves.
Vice President Margarita Popova visited the “Hristo Botev” High School in Kardzhali on the occasion of the start of classes on democracy and law. The initiative is of the German Foundation for International Legal Cooperation. After the meeting with the students, she met and talked with the regional governor Ilia Iliev and the mayor Hasan Azis.
When you feel the need to communicate with others, with differences such as faith and ethnicity, then you understand the meaning of the word democracy – a life with freedom of dreams, with love and with respect between us. The school is a place for education and patriotism, but also a place where all this happens, said Popova, who started the project “Lessons on Democracy and Law.
Education is the basis of democracy – first in the family, then here in the school. I believe that these seminars will give birth to some of Bulgaria’s future politicians, and they can be among you, the vice president added.
