Libreville, Saturday October 5, 2024 (Infos Gabon) – French President Emmanuel Macron prayed on Friday in Villers-Cotterêts in front of about thirty heads of state from the member countries of the International Organization of la Francophonie (OIF) for a group at a service the people.
Several heads of state are continuing with the Francophonie Conference this Saturday in Paris, which France has been hosting since yesterday, 33 years later. Among them, General Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema, president of the Gabonese movement who lives in France after taking an active part in the United Nations General Assembly in New York in the United States.
The Gabonese head of state, who has increased diplomatic ties since coming to power, is taking an active part with his counterparts from the Francophonie in this 19th summit around the theme “Create, renew and undertake in French” with a focus on young people and women.
The French President and his wife welcomed the Gabonese presidential couple, as well as the secretary general of the International Organization of the Francophonie, at the Cité internationale de la langue française. This symbolic place, completely dedicated to the promotion of French cultures, was a framework for discussions on political, economic and cultural issues that affect all the countries present.
“It will be a place of development, innovation, transmission that will make it possible to irrigate everything that is done in our capitals, but also in our regions to make it possible to increase to teach in French and teach French. Because teaching and translating French are the vectors of our language. And I will especially thank Camel Daoud for his inspiration, his vision of the importance of translation to give everyone the opportunity to access our wealth and diversity,” said Emmanuel Macron in his opening speech.
And to add: “The International Organization of the Francophonie, dear Louise (Moushikiwabo, general secretary of the Francophonie, editor’s note), will have a special role in this regard, as a guarantor. It is also as Francophones that we have to think about artificial intelligence innovations, follow great innovations, make the French space a place for green store innovation and promote our main players. “
The Francophonie is also a place for political communication, diplomacy and mediation in an international context characterized by wars in Africa, Europe and the Middle East that do not support countries that are members of the group at the same time as Lebanon which is currently struggling with Israel.
The evening continues with a dinner hosted by the Macron couple at the Elysée Palace.
