In November, it will be a year and a half since World Health Organization (WHO) experts announced that Covid-19 is no longer considered an international health emergency.
At the beginning of August, the WHO declared an emergency situation regarding the spread of smallpox, despite the fact that it was removed from the list of dangerous infectious diseases on November 1, 2023. The infectologist Ludmila Viksna explains that if the infection will be removed from the list, it does not mean that the viruses will disappear.
As for Covid-19, we have to get used to living with the fact that it is not going anywhere. There are more than ten types of Omicron, the causative agent of the C-19 virus. The infectious disease specialist recommends that those who have not received the vaccine for at least a year should do so.
There are known problems with vaccines – they cannot run to every omicron variable. The patient is faced with a big choice, as Covid-19 has not subsided in Latvia either. Quarantine was announced in several departments in Daugavpils and Valmiera hospitals.
The article continues about the good and bad features of some vaccines. According to the agreement concluded on behalf of the member states of the European Commission, it is expected that the vaccine manufacturer “Pfizer” will continue to supply vaccines to Latvia until 2026. This year, the observed 221,000 doses of vaccines, and 158,000 in the next two years. Legal proceedings have even begun against the President of the European Commission, Urzula von der Leyen, regarding general procurement in Belgium.
Despite the fact that the Covid-19 pandemic is behind us, the side effects are still being felt today. This time a little about medical, but much more about economic and legal.
A large study from the University of Oxford (about 1 million children) shows that myocarditis and pericarditis occur only in vaccinated people, but not in those who are sick with Covid-19. In other words: heart attack in teenagers under the age of 15 can cause serious complications and even death.
Here we want to remember the statements of vaccine manufacturers, statesmen and women about the safety of vaccines. Fate once decided to be responsible for the reserved bunker of the Civil Defense (CA) of the LPSR Council of Ministers on the Cēsi side. In reformed Latvia, it is already an obligation to organize CA work at the district level.
At one point, while sitting on training courses, Soviet reserve colonels strongly emphasized that the safety of vaccines can only be discussed after five years of testing. At that time, I did not know that the socialist country was diligently preparing for biological warfare with the capitalists. The science in this field was very advanced. This was confirmed by the events in Yekaterinburg, when anthrax bacillus escaped from a secret military laboratory in the 1960s. War doctors could stop the spread immediately. Only 60 people died.
These facts about vaccines were revealed to me by Swedish experts in week-long courses in the early 1990s. Let me remind you that the US Federal Bureau of Investigation is still considering the Wuhan laboratory in China as the possible source of the Covid-19 leak. This introduction – as an explanation and justification for the actions of those who refused the vaccine, despite the requests of our authorities. People in some professions even had to lose their jobs. Is the former Prime Minister Kariņa not thinking of apologizing to these people?
This spring, the British-Swedish pharmaceutical giant AstraZeneca has admitted in court documents that one of the side effects from his Covid-19 vaccine can be fatal. Side effect – formation of blood clots and reduced number of platelets. For now AstraZeneca by arguing that the benefits of using vaccines outweigh the harms. Here I want to ask – shouldn’t the manufacturer share the profit of the billions and pay the relatives of the victims for the suffering?
A class action lawsuit has begun in the United Kingdom over allegations that the vaccine caused several deaths. Total demand from 50 people for £100m. So far, as far as I know, the heirs of one victim in Latvia received 140 thousand euro as compensation. On September 10, the Cabinet of Ministers decided that the State Medicines Agency should pay 5 thousand euros for each patient for the damage done to health. There are 16 more applications in the queue for consideration.
Due to the general provisions of the European Commission, vaccine manufacturers want to benefit from it. So, for example Pfizer suing the Polish government to recover 1.3 billion euros. The reason – the Poles refused to pay. Latvians are more tolerant. Health Minister Hossam Abu Meri promises to pay for all vaccinations. Let me remind you that the cheapest one costs 2 euros, and the most expensive one costs 26 euros. Data on the number of doses in our warehouses is not publicly available anywhere in Latvia. It is mentioned that they could spend several tens of millions of euros.
