Grand opera in the new Cologne “crime scene”: The latest case brings the detectives Max Ballauf (Klaus J. Behrendt) and Freddy Schenk (Dietmar Bär), who mean the world, onto the boards. And all this in the backdrop of the Deutz interim venue of the Cologne Opera.
As WDR reports, filming for “The Creation”, the 94th Cologne case, has now come to an end. In the story, the quartermaster Elli Zander (Ines Lutz) is found shot dead during the final rehearsals for the premiere of Joseph Haydn’s “The Creation”. She is wearing a dress from the costume collection and her body has been draped as if for an opera production. Zander was also responsible for the opera’s room with dummy weapons, from which a firearm was stolen. A first lead leads the chief inspectors Ballauf and Schenk to the counter-tenor David Deycks (Marcel Jacqueline Gisdol), but he cannot be found. And then another murder happens.
Cologne crime scene: Filming in the Staathaus am Rheinpark
The filming of the production by Bavaria Fiction Köln (producer Jan Kruse) on behalf of WDR (editor Götz Bolten) for ARD ran from August 29th to September 30th. The backdrop for the investigation was, among other things, the Staathaus am Rheinpark in Deutz, which is currently the interim venue for the Cologne Opera.
Back in “Tatort – The Creation” are Roland Riebeling as Inspector Norbert Jütte, Tinka Fürst as KTU boss Natalie Förster and Joe Bausch as forensic doctor Dr. Roth. Guest roles include Katja Bürkle, Hannah Schiller, Mareile Blendl, Dagmar Operskalski, Bettina Engelhardt, Aljoscha Stadelmann, Judith Engel, Jens Kipper and many more. The book about this “crime scene” comes from Wolfgang S Tauch. Directed by Torsten C. Fischer. Christoph Krauss is responsible for the image design.
