/ world today news/ “Yesterday’s conference showed that the DPS, although still cautiously, sets possibilities for changing the parameters of the political configuration after the presidential elections. This was said on the BNR air by Borislav Tsekov from the Institute for Modern Politics.

According to him, the fact that Boyko Borisov quite demonstratively maintains contacts with Lyutvi Mestan and the regime of Turkish President Erdogan, who is behind Mestan and his party, may be the basis of the oppositional speech of DPS leaders regarding GERB.
It is too early to determine to what extent this tone will turn into opposition politics, Tsekov also said.
In his words, the presence of representatives of Turkish political forces during the DPS conference was highlighted.
Here, clearly the dividing line between Erdogan’s regime, which has a rather aggressive policy towards Bulgaria and the Bulgarian Turks, seeing them more as a fifth column, as part of the Turkish nation rather than the Bulgarian one and imposing the doctrine of neo-Ottomanism and on the other hand political forces which quite signifiably, being in opposition to this regime in Turkey, quite significative at the DPS congress itself and obsessively, I would say, declared respect for the territorial integrity of Bulgaria and for the unity of the Bulgarian nation.
The dividing line that emerged between Lyutvi Mestan and Ahmed Dogan, which was drawn along the line of Mr. Mestan’s dependence on a foreign country in the face of Turkey, and on the other hand the DPS and its leadership, as maintaining national positions and interests, with this was further strengthened, commented Borislav Tsekov.
