Residents flee from a terraced house in Oudeschoot due to a large fire

A terraced house in Oudeschoot burned to the ground on Saturday night. The fire, which started in the kitchen, quickly spread to the upper floor. Nearby homes also sustained damage.

The fire broke out on Bessemerstraat at the beginning of the evening. A little later, flames burst out of the house.

It is difficult to fight the fire because the roof of the house is made of straw tiles. This was reported by a photographer who was at the fire. The fire brigade used a chainsaw to make holes in the roof so they could get better access to the fire.
