After 5 years of waiting, Joaquin Phoenix’s second Joker movie has been released in theaters around the world and could become the biggest failure in cinema this year, or at least that’s what the critics say.
The sequel titled Joker: Folie à Deux has had its debut with global critics as well as fans and its rating on Rotten Tomatoes has started showing some of the bad comments, receiving a 47% rating.

The first reactions
After its premiere at the Venice Festival, where the first people to have enjoyed it highlighted that the film was extremely repetitive, and in some way, claustrophobic, the sequel left a bad taste in the mouth that today becomes even more visible with the reactions of the fans.

The film, which had debuted with 59% approval, has plummeted approximately 20% after the reception of fans, who describe the film as having a poor plot and a poor quality musical.

It is worth remembering that the platform does not make specialized reviews but instead compiles reviews and comments from other portals in addition to offering a space where people can leave their opinion of a film.
The musical turn and its consequence
It is not a surprise that the musical genre is extremely rejected by current audiences, who constantly describe it as boring, of course it does not help that the production companies decide to hide that the product is a musical in order to avoid a bad box office.

The sequel would be so disastrous in these first days and in its first weekend, that what was predicted as a success of 1 billion dollars, could hardly reach 300 million according to expectations, resulting in a box office failure.
