On the ninth matchday of the ADMIRAL 2nd league, SK Rapid II won the Vienna derby against FAC 2-0.
The goals were scored by captain Tobias Hedl (34th) and the in-form Nikolaus Wurmbrand (72nd), who rewarded their team for a committed performance. Thanks to the success, the promoted team is knocking on the top for the first time and moves up to third place in the table.
The young Hütteldorfers around Furkan Dursun, who has recovered, and Wurmbrand, who was recently in the first team, dominate the game from the start and rely on a lot of ball possession, but cannot create any compelling chances for a long time.
The first chance of the game belongs to captain Tobias Hedl, whose shot is parried by Jakob Odehnal (10th). In the 33rd minute, Wurmbrand finished on the left edge of the penalty area, but he circled the ball just past the opponent’s goal.
Hedl takes the lead
The Rapid team were able to reward themselves just a minute later: Dominik Vincze lobbed the ball behind the guests’ defensive line, where Hedl ran free and coolly converted to the 1-0 lead – which also marked the half-time score.
After the break, the FAC appeared a little more active. Mitja Mörec’s team stands higher and presses earlier. This means that Bertaccini (48th) creates a first half chance early in the second half. But since the hosts don’t retreat, the game becomes more open in the second half.

The better chances still belong to the Hütteldorfers, who press a little more to score. In the 57th minute of the game, substitute Zivkovic missed a great opportunity and his shot hit the post. Seconds later, Gueye hits the post again. Tobias Hedl also always causes danger as an offensive asset.
The decision finally comes from Wurmbrand, who continues his successful run and slots in after another preparatory work by Vincze (72nd). The guests, who never really found their way into the game, can no longer recover from the second goal conceded – which means the young Hütteldorfers remain 2-0.
Thanks to the victory, SK Rapid II is now third in the table – only three points behind leader Admira Wacker. The FAC, on the other hand, continues to tread water and remains ninth with one game less.
