Following CNV, the FNV trade union is also suspending early retirement actions

There are no increases for early retirement at this time.

NOS news

Following the example of the CNV trade union, the FNV is also suspending new strikes for early retirement. At the moment, this will be until December 1st. That is the result of talks tonight with the leaders of the strike from all areas that are on strike with heavy work.

The union wants to consult with the government and employers about this scheme until that date. But the FNV emphasizes that something must be better than the proposal that was on the table this morning. “If that doesn’t work, worse strikes will follow from December 1 than those in September,” said FNV negotiator Piet Rietman.

According to Rietman, it has become clear tonight that everyone is happy that “we are back at the table”. “But our strikers are prepared to rally their colleagues again for a bigger round of strikes if that better deal doesn’t materialise.”

The negotiating parties have agreed not to make any statements about the exact contents of the negotiations. According to Rietman, this is to give the discussions the space they need.

‘Helpful conversations’

Earlier today, the CNV union announced that they will not be going on strike at this time. “Constructive discussions are currently underway between the social partners and the Minister of Social Affairs,” says CNV president Piet Fortuin.

The employers’ group VNO-NCW also believes that constructive talks have taken place and is happy that the strikes are unlikely to continue. The Ministry of Social Affairs is also talking about good discussions.
