Prime Video will broadcast the 2024 BAMBI Awards live. This event, organized by Hubert Burda Media, will take place on November 7th at the Bavaria Filmstudios in Munich. After returning last year for its 75th anniversary, the media award will be presented by a streaming service for the first time this year. Prime Video members can watch the live stream at no additional cost.
“BAMBI reaches more young people via digital media channels than on linear television and more than any other awards ceremony,” explains Philipp Welte, CEO of Hubert Burda Media. “The future of entertainment is streamers, and Prime Video is the perfect partner to make the leap into the digital dimensions of moving image offerings possible with BAMBI.”
“With the broadcast of BAMBI, one of the most traditional and important entertainment awards in Germany, we are continuing our mission to offer our customers a diverse and appealing entertainment program on Prime Video,” explains Christoph Schneider, Country Director of Prime Video Germany and Austria. “We are proud to be the first streaming service to present this prestigious event live.”
Originally launched in 1948 as a film award, BAMBI has developed into a cross-media event over 75 years. After decades of broadcasting on traditional television, BAMBI 2024 will now be shown on a streaming platform for the first time. Does it ensure more relevance? Questionable, right?
