Amstelveen – In the context of International Teachers’ Day, which is celebrated worldwide on Saturday, October 5, the municipality of Amstelveen is treating all teachers in primary and secondary education in Amstelveen to cake and a movie evening.
Councilor Frank Berkhout (Education, D66): ‘On this day we celebrate the importance of education and all teachers who work every day with enthusiasm, attention and patience on the future of our children. As a municipality, we think it is important to celebrate this and thank and highlight teachers,” he says.
Berkhout visited the secondary school for the occasion Futuris under Pandora (before Panta Rhei)where he presented Rector Matthijs Ran with a box of pastries. The school will soon celebrate its 50th anniversary, where the new school name will also be celebrated.
Movie night
In addition to pastries, the municipality will treat you to a festive film evening on Tuesday 8 and Monday 21 October in the Schouwburg. Teachers are treated to popcorn and a drink while they can watch the appropriate film Das Lehrerzimmer with their team or colleagues.
