In 1995, Kiryu and his friends Nishiki, Yumi and Miho, tired of their lives, plan robbing a local arcadenot knowing that it is controlled by the Dojima Family, a powerful yakuza organization. Thus, they are dragged into the violent world of the mafia in the Kamurocho of 1995.
Ten years later, in 2005, Kiryu is about to be released from prison and discovers, thanks to Detective Date, that his former friends are in danger. He decides to return to Kamurocho to protect them, but faces a deteriorating friendship and growing tension between the Tojo Clan and the Omi Alliance.
