Only today: 32nd FILMFEST HAMBURG
In the cultural melting pot of Haifa, the stories of four characters intertwine to form a web of lies and intrigue. Rami’s girlfriend is pregnant. He doesn’t want a child, she wants to keep it. His wealthy parents are in financial difficulties, but his mother simply ignores this and continues to plan a big family celebration. Meanwhile, Miri, the sister of Rami’s friend, is busy with her daughter, who is in depression – and at the same time is trying to dissuade her sister from Rami. When a minor car accident occurs, it doesn’t seem to matter much. But it is enough to gradually cause the fragile structure to collapse.
SCANDAR Coptic (*1975 in Israel) is a filmmaker and visual artist. He made the highly acclaimed film with Yaron Shani in 2009 Drivewhich was nominated for an Oscar.
