The Covid vaccine
The national campaign uses the new monovalent forms of the Comirnaty vaccine, adapted to the new variants of the Sars virus COV2. Having caught the SARS-CoV-2 infection, even a recent one, after the previous increase, does not represent a vaccine ban. The interval from the most recent COVID-19 vaccine dose must be at least three months.
Recommended categories
The booster dose against Covid is offered to these categories of people: people aged 60 and over; Hosts of long-term care facilities; Women who are in any trimester of pregnancy or in the “postpartum” period including women who are breastfeeding; Health and social care workers responsible for providing support in hospitals, the local area and long-term care facilities; medical students, students of the health professions who do internships in care facilities and all health and social-health workers in training; People from 6 months to 59 years old inclusive, with high sensitivity, because they suffer from pathologies or conditions that increase the risk of severe COVID-19.
The priorities
Vaccination is recommended for family members, co-residents and caregivers of people with high sensitivity. In the initial phase of the campaign, vaccination is given as a priority to people aged 80 or older, to guests of long-term care facilities, to people with high levels of sensitivity, with special reference to immunocompromised subjects to very dangerous. system, for health and social care workers. Covid vaccines are available in doctors’ offices, like the flu vaccine.
The pharmacy channel
Pharmacies in the area are also involved in both vaccinations (from next week lists of pharmacies involved in the vaccination campaigns will also be available online). It is possible to co-administer the new updated vaccines with other vaccines (especially the flu vaccine). Anyone interested can book the vaccine directly by contacting the participating pharmacies.
The ASL channel
Both vaccines are available to citizens who request them also at the vaccination centers of the local health authorities, and their addresses and certificates will be published on the websites of the local health authorities and on the website of the Piedmont Region.
