International Music Day

Today, October 1, we celebrate International Music Day, a date that resonates in the hearts of people around the world. This celebration, proposed by the legendary violinist Yehudi Menuhin in 1975 and supported by UNESCO, aims to promote music in all spheres of society and foster peace and friendship between nations through the unifying power of music.

Music is a universal language that transcends borders, languages and cultures. It has the power to inspire, move and connect people in ways that few other forms of expression can match. Whether through a majestic symphony, a catchy pop song or the passionate rhythm of a dance, music is an integral part of our lives.

At the UNAM Faculty of Music, the degree in Musical Education is taught, which underlines the importance of musical education in the training of new generations. Music not only enriches our lives, but also plays a crucial role in the cognitive and emotional development of young people.

This International Music Day, we invite you to immerse yourself in the world of sounds, explore different musical genres and share music with friends and family. Let music unite us in harmony and friendship around the world!
