After the new intro with the brand new NXT logo, Vic Joseph and WWE Hall of Famer Booker T are welcomed. Shortly afterwards, WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels enters the ring and addresses the NXT universe.
Shawn Michaels welcomes fans to the premiere of NXT on the CW Network and proclaims that there can’t be a new era of NXT without new championship titles – both men’s and women’s. HBK unveils a podium with the new NXT Championship belts. Suddenly a familiar voice asks Michaels if he is ready. It’s Triple H who reveals himself. Together, Shawn Michaels and Triple H ask fans if they are ready to experience the new era. Giulia and NXT Women’s Champion “The Prodigy” Roxanne Perez then enter the ring for the first match of the evening.
1. Match
NXT Women’s Championship
Roxanne Perez (c) defeated Giulia after Pop Rocks – towards the end of the match, Perez grabbed the Women’s Championship belt, but was disarmed by the referee, whereupon a hooded woman stormed out and gave Giulia a DDT while the referee was distracted, after which Perez left the match finished with her finisher (12:59)
After the match, the hooded figure removes his hood and reveals himself to be none other than the returned Cora Jade. Roxanne Perez responds with a smile and raises an eyebrow.
We then see footage of CM Punk, Trick Williams and WWE NXT Champion “All Ego” Ethan Page arriving at the Allstate Arena.
The next match of the evening is announced as a Street Fight between Wes Lee and Zachary Wentz.
Backstage we see WWE NXT Tag Team Champions Axiom and Nathan Frazer simulating their upcoming match against A-Town Down Under on the PlayStation 5. During the game, the situation escalates when Frazer loses his temper and throws his controller on the ground. Shortly afterwards he smiles again and demands a rematch.
Now we see NXT manager Ava having a conversation with CM Punk. Lexis King interrupts the conversation and asks if he can talk to Punk. Punk explains that he respects King’s father and is willing to help him. King replies that he is trying to be different and go his own way. He then brings up Oro Mensah, who won a controversial victory last week. Punk advises King that the next time he meets Oro, he should either give it his all or fight against his legacy. King thanks Punk for the advice.
Vic Joseph then directs us to a hype video about the upcoming street fight between Wes Lee and Zachary Wentz. We see the entries of the two opponents for the next match.
Before the match begins, we cut back to the backstage area where Jaida Parker and Lola Vice are preparing for their match of the day. The two get into an argument, whereupon WWE NXT Women’s North American Champion Kelani Jordan appears and tries to convince the two that they should work together. However, Parker and Vice ignore them and storm off angrily. Jordan then mumbles that she has another plan.
2. Match
Street Fight
Wes Lee defeated Zachary Wentz after a diving meteora with a steel chain around his knee – during the match, among other things, the steel stairs, a shopping cart, wooden board, several steel chairs, Kendo stick, a trash can and a steel chain were used (13:35)
The Miz is then shown making his way from backstage to the ring.
Once in the ring, The Miz welcomes the fans to a new edition of MizTV. He then introduces WWE NXT North American Champion Oba Femi and “The Don of NXT” Tony D’Angelo as they make their way to the ring.
The Miz begins by asking D’Angelo what he will do differently in his upcoming rematch against Femi after previously admitting he was afraid of the match. D’Angelo admits there’s a reason Femi is considered the most dominant NXT North American Champion of all time, but he’s still confident he’ll dethrone Femi next week. Miz then turns to Femi and asks him for his answer. Femi replies that D’Angelo himself doesn’t believe what he just said. He goes on to explain that while D’Angelo has had success in NXT, he has a ceiling. Femi is sure that D’Angelo will never win the North American Championship because that title belongs to him.
D’Angelo then responds that he grew up on the streets of Chicago, just 20 minutes away, and his family has his back, both in the background and in the audience. Femi counters that D’Angelo’s family can’t fight for him and next week it will be just the two of them in the ring. He reminds D’Angelo that he already defeated him at No Mercy. The tension rises as the two men face each other and stare at each other. Femi concludes by stating that he is unavoidable for D’Angelo before Miz once again promotes their upcoming NXT North American Championship match next week.
A replay of the scene where Cora cost Jade Giulia the WWE NXT Women’s Championship match that started the show is then shown.
Backstage, we see Cora Jade telling Roxanne Perez that she likes the woman Perez has become. Perez replies that a common enemy may be just what they need to work together again.
Now Jaida Parker and Lola Vice make their way to the ring for the next match of the evening. Fatal Influence follows them as WWE NXT Women’s North American Champion Kelani Jordan joins the announce table.
3. Match
Tag Team Match
Fatal Influence: Jacy Jayne & Fallon Henley besiegten
Jaida Parker & Lola Vice after a dropkick-running-knee combination – Jaida didn’t want to fight anymore after a collision with Lola (10:50)
After the match, Fatal Influence called Kelani Jordan into the ring. Jordan, already prepared for the challenge, explains that she knew it would come to this, but she is not here alone. At this moment, the music sounds from Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair, who march to the ring together. Cargill and Belair quickly take control, knocking out Henley and Jayne, while Jordan follows up with a dropkick, knocking both opponents out of the ring.
Vic Joseph then announces a promo from Je’von Evans in which he talks about his upcoming singles match against Randy Orton next week.
In his promo, Je’von Evans explains how much he enjoys Randy Orton challenging him. He refers to Randy as one of the “original G’s” and emphasizes how excited he is to compete against one of his idols.
