The former president of the United States, Donald Trump, referred on the Instagram social network to the situation in the Middle East after the launch of 180 missiles by Iran against Israel in the last few hours.

“Look at the world today: look at the missiles flying right now in the Middle East, look at what is happening in Russia and Ukraine, look at the inflation that is destroying the world. “NONE OF THIS HAPPENED WHILE I WAS PRESIDENT!” Trump shared.

Furthermore, in a statement about the “imminent attack by the terrorist regime of Iran against Israel”, Trump assured that during his term (2017-2021) that country was “totally under control”, without money and “desperate to reach an agreement” .

“Now, war or the threat of war is escalating everywhere and the two incompetents who lead this country are bringing us to the brink of World War III,” Trump said.

The escalation comes after the Israel Defense Forces’ long-awaited ground incursion into southern Lebanon began on Monday night.

On September 25, Donald Trump said he would make Iran “blow up” if this country attacked a candidate in the US elections, after intelligence services warned of threats from Tehran against the Republican’s life.

“If I were president, I would inform the threatening country, in this case Iran, that if they do anything to harm this person, we would blow up their largest cities and the country itself,” the Republican candidate declared at a rally.

Israeli military spokesman Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari said the country’s air defenses intercepted many of the incoming missiles, although some fell in central and southern Israel. Israel’s national rescue service said two people were slightly injured by shrapnel.
