/ world today news/ DSB leader Radan Kanev demanded that the KTB case be taken over by the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office, and that the chief prosecutor Sotir Tsatsarov remove himself from the work on the case, so that his own activities related to the development of the scandal could also be investigated.
The prosecutor’s office must be very active in order to make it possible to collect the loans given by the bank, but this institution, in the person of the chief prosecutor, completely compromises itself as a defender of the public interest in the investigation process of KTB, Kanev pointed out.
According to an investigation by the reformers, out of 150 legal entities that received loans from KTB, 59 do not have a single appointed employee.
“This should clearly say what happened in the bank,” Yuli Moskov said.
The political union promised a special press conference to tell “the real story about KTB”.
Immediately after the formation of the future government, a new governor of the BNB must be elected, the reformers insist.
“We will insist on civil participation in the upcoming competition for a new governor of the BNB,” said Yordan Karadjov from the Civic Council of the Reform Bloc. The Bulgarian myth, the ideology that we are in an absolutely stable situation, that the board cannot be shaken or that before the banks you can’t queue, it was destroyed,” he added.
Karadjov stated that the reformers are finding more and more supporters for their idea that the competition for the new governor of the BNB should be open to foreigners as well. “For me, a disciplined German or some other foreign governor of the bank would bring discipline and order. He has been a Canadian in Great Britain for many years and there reigns discipline and order, there are no Shurobajan connections,” he explained.
According to the reformers, the refund of deposits guaranteed under European legislation up to BGN 196,000 must be immediately returned. In addition, no taxpayers’ money should be invested in the eventual recovery of the bank.
The reformers claim that if, after the formation of a new government, the investments of the small and medium-sized clients of KTB are not returned, claims will rain against Bulgaria, and the compensations for them must be paid from the budget.
“It is inadmissible for the state to pay with money from the budget, from our taxes, to cover the thefts and frauds of a group of self-forgotten political renegades who have not left power the most, said Karadjov. I will name them by name – we are talking about DPS, about Ahmed Dogan personally. They are part of the backstage and the oligarchy”.
According to Yuli Moskov, the further extension of the deadline for making a decision on the future of KTB by two months only means that an attempt is being made to conceal information. “We are waiting for a long enough time to pass so that the case can subside and, if possible, the main players can distribute the pie and come to an agreement among themselves, for which we have clear signals and these are the actions of the chief prosecutor, said Moskov. We, from the Reform Bloc, stated as early as three weeks ago that Peevski and Tsvetan Vassilev had agreed that there was a deal. What is happening today – three weeks later – confirms our words”.
According to Moscow, if there is a backstage, if there are future parliamentary agreements for a possible coalition between GERB and DPS, then this coalition can safely be called the “KTB coalition”.
“The goal of this coalition will be to cover up everything that happened in this bank – kept under wraps, immune to checks and market mechanisms, so that it can serve the authorities,” Moskov said.
