The release date for Football Manager 25 has been set: from 26. November 2024 you can prove again that you know better than Xabi Alonso, Vincent Kompany or Pep Guardiola.
With the announcement of the release date, developer studio Sports Interactive promises the »biggest technical and graphical leap for the series in a generation«. The pithy statement is also reflected in the PC system requirements, which are now available on the associated Steam website were published by FM 25.
For the first time in the history of the Football Manager series, an Nvidia RTX graphics card is mentioned in the recommended settings; AMD users also have something new to marvel at with the arrival of a Radeon RX GPU.
Sports Interactive lists the following specifications for the minimum and recommended system that will be required for Football Manager 25:
Minimum (1080p / “Low”) | Empfohlen (1080p / “High”) | |
---|---|---|
The step towards more “modern” requirements should not surprise those familiar with the series: it was announced over a year ago that the current offshoot Football Manager 2024 would be the “last of its kind”.
For Football Manager 25, Sports Interactive decided to replace the in-house match engine and Adopt Unity Engine. This step is intended to improve the graphics quality; Animations were explicitly mentioned. In general, some optimizations should also take place by switching to Unity.

The increase in storage space required, at around 20 gigabytes, is probably also due to the move to Unity. The additional files that are usual for Football Manager, such as the faces of players, jerseys or club logos, are (logically) not even taken into account.
However, the developers have not revealed to what extent the increased requirements for Football Manager 25 are justified. Instead, there is a schedule in which new insights should be provided bit by bit until the release. It starts on 7. October 2024: On this date, Sports Interactive will announce the debut of women’s football on FM 25.
