IFK Gothenburg’s wild crowd – beating Gais in the derby

Gamla Ullevi already had an electric feeling an hour before the start with two heels singing loudly and loudly. IFK Göteborg against Gais on the schedule, a derby with plenty in the pot. But in the end, IFK Göteborg was able to overcome Krantz.

Axel Norén cleared a cross, Kolbeinn Thordarsson was first in front and sent a heavy shot into the top of the net in the 36th minute.

Before the second half, Blåvitt supporters fired several rockets, which delayed the game. Then, when the second half had just started, several pyrotechnic pieces were set off in the Gais sections. A large shot was also thrown from the green-black short side.

Skjellerup extended for IFK Gothenburg

As a result of the incidents, the derby was stopped for about 45 minutes.

On the restart, Alexander Ahl-Holmström had a couple of half-chances for Gais, but it was Blåvitt who created the open chances. Ramon Pascal Lundqvist had an open goal, Erik Krantz made a good save. Just a minute later, however, it was 2-0.

Anders Trondsen hit a stray pass, Laurs Skjellerup put himself forward and scored Blåvitt’s second goal.

– I would describe it as a scoring goal. I put it in. It was a good post and it was just for me to be in the right place.

This was Dane’s first visit to Gamla Ullevi.

– Great feeling to score here. It’s hard to explain, but it was special when I was in and out of the starting eleven when I was struggling with injuries, says Skjellerup.

The win is Blåvitt’s first win in two and a half months and first home win in four months. Three points that are very important for Blåvitt in the battle at the bottom. For Gai, the loss means that the athletes will lose important points in the fight for the European places.
