U19 loses to Bremen, U17 wins against SCP: DSC Arminia Bielefeld

U19: DSC Arminia Bielefeld – SV Werder Bremen 1:2

In the U19 DFB youth league, head coach Marcel Drobe’s team once again achieved a good performance. In the end, it’s not enough for points against the second-placed team from the north.

“Both defensive lines didn’t allow that much. “It was a good game for both teams,” explained Drobe after the game. It was only shortly before half time that our Akademinia youngsters fell behind 0-1 (40′). But before halftime, Lennox Afolabi equalized after winning the ball (42′).

In the second half, the black-white-blue took a little more control, but did not achieve the goal they had hoped for. He in turn falls on the other side after the guests from Bremen send one of their quick attackers on the move (79th). This sealed the final score.

“We played a good game, we’re not unhappy with that. Nevertheless, we slowly want to score three times again and reward ourselves for our achievements,” concludes Drobe.

It continues on Saturday, October 12th, in the Böllhoff Stadium against SC Paderborn. Kick-off is at 11 a.m.

U17: SC Paderborn – DSC Arminia Bielefeld 0:1

In the U17 DFB youth league, head coach Tom Rerucha’s team achieved a 1-0 away win against SC Paderborn. This puts our U17 in the top three places in the table.

“It was a hard-fought game, very wild and characterized by many tough duels,” explains Rerucha after the game. While the hosts tried a lot with long balls, our Akademinia youngsters had a hard time getting in. As the game went on it got better and ultimately the boys were rewarded with a 1-0 lead. Jenath Jeesin goes around the SCP goalkeeper and nets a remarkable goal (23′). Both teams say goodbye at halftime with a shot from the 07 post.

In the second half it remains a hectic game with chances and goals on both sides. “We were unlucky a few times at the front and Anton Kollmeier at the back, who kept the box clean for us with saves,” explains the head coach. With these important three points, our U17s can establish themselves in the top third and are fully motivated going into the catch-up game against Borussia Dortmund’s youngsters, who have the same number of points.

Kick-off on Wednesday, October 2nd is at 6 p.m. in the Böllhoff Stadium.
