SK Sigma Olomouc U16 footballers played in the 9th round of the MSDL on the field of MFK Karviná. Hanáci already scored two goals in the first half, Jan Filo and Adam Kubeš made their mark. They maintained their lead in the second half and after a 2:0 win moved to the top of the competition table.

Sigma started the duel well, against a quality opponent, they caught the beginning of the match and struck in the 11th minute. Goalkeeper David Spala intercepted the home team’s cross, quickly played to the left side, the ball reached Jan Fil, who went over two opponents and finished accurately.

In the 28th minute, it was already two goals. Tomáš Pařenica found Adam Kubeš with a cross from the left and he also aimed unerringly. Then Pařenica could have added the insurance, who was found by Šimon Vybíral, but the striker from Olomouc narrowly missed.

Then the game leveled out, the home team kicked several corners, but the Hanáci defended well, the center of the midfield helped the stoppers defensively, the defense blocked the shots, the Slezány could not get into the ball.

In the second half, Sigma controlled the game, had action for the decisive third goal. Substitute Adrian Janošec sent several dangerous crosses from the wing, in a three-on-one action he put the pass back too far under Pařenica. The home team had a chance at the end, but the striker Sikora shot over.

The duel ended with a 2:0 win for Hanáky. In the table, Sigma U16 is in 1st place. In the next match, the 16 will play on October 2 from 15:45 in Znojmo.

Evaluation of coach Tomáš Vasiljev:

“It was a much more challenging match for us than, for example, against Hlučín, you could see that Karviná played in the highest competition last year and the boys are older, that’s why it was important for us to enter the match, which was very successful for us. The boys were goal oriented, it’s a shame we didn’t add a third goal. But I especially value the defense, when the boys all played responsibly and helped the defense. In the second half, we controlled it, again there were several possibilities to secure the lead, but we didn’t give it, however, we only let the home team have a chance at the end, luckily they didn’t score either. The boys performed well, the opponent had quality, it wasn’t free, I’m glad we managed the duel.”
